Kernow Cat Club Show 3 April 2010

A great day here meeting up with some of the kittens and young adults who form part of our extended family who all contributed to flying the Barbecco flag. Shows give us the chance to meet many of the lovely friends who own cats and kittens bred by us.

Amidala our home bred chocolate tortie girl claimed her Champion title at 13 months of age, this being achieved in three straight shows. Our thanks to John Hansson who commented: “A delightful mature and well balanced girl!”. Ami was unbeaten on the day.

Making his debut was Barbecco Chief Chirpa 37d, owned by Caroline Cockwell of Carbeile Cats. He was 1st and Best of Breed, obtained three firsts in his miscellaneous classes and a second – a great start to his show career!

Another debutee was Barbecco Padme 37e owned by our friends Christian and Lesley Storr. Maddie was the tiny baby of this litter born some 24 hrs after her siblings. What a gorgeous big girl she is now. Maddie confidently purred her way through the day receiving 1st and Best of Breed and excellent results in her subsequent classes.

Our own Barbecco Shu Mai 37K and her litter sister Barbecco Taria 37K took first and second in their open class and went on to do extremely well in their other classes. Taria (aka Pixie) has now won her open class in three consecutive shows, so our thanks and warm congratulations to Fran McDermond for showing her in first class condition. Both these little cinnamon girls are full of promise, cinnamon being a extremely difficult colour to get everything right (a fact not always appreciated by judges here in the UK).

Her first adult show gave Barbecco Organa (Maggie Mae) her 1st CC and Best of Breed under Diane Harper. Congratulations go to her owner Glynis Bransby. Maggie has grown into a lovely girl with a super temperament.

In the Siamese section, Grd Premier Barbecco Ruby Star delighted us by gaining her first Imperial Certificate. Her owners Cheryl and Tris were obviously thrilled. They have shown Ruby Star and Redford Shine right through from kittens winning many awards, they are always in wonderful condition and their feline dad Grand Champion Barbecco Stay With Me is extremely proud of them.
